COTTONWOOD FALL CLASSIC 2014
During the weekend, 39-off was run 18 times by 6 different skiers. Top score of the weekend was 4.5 @ 41-off by Ward McLain. It was the perfect combination of air temp, water temp and a 5-7mph breeze off the dock. Numerous PB's as well. Congrats to all skiers and thanks to all the officials for making it a tournament to remember.
Regina Jaquess of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, tied the Women's World Slalom Record of 3 @ 41 off at the Cottonwood Fall Record on September 28, 2013. Regina skied just inside of 4 ball - barely missing the opportunity to set a new World Record.
Ruth McCreary of Justin, Texas tied the Girls 2 National Record with a score of 3 @ 38 off at the 2012 Cottonwood Summer Record on June 3, 2012. In addition, this score breaks Ruth's previous Regional record of 2 @ 38 off she set at the 2011 Cottonwood Fall Record.

CWS member Eric Schmidt lost his courageous battle with cancer on February 1, 2011. Eric was a B-52 pilot stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base. He is survived by his wife Laura and 3 month old son Landon. We will remember Eric not for how he died but how he lived. We were blessed to have known him.
A trust fund has been established for Eric's son, Landon. Contributions can be made to:
Landon Schmidt c/o Laura Schmidt
Cottonwood will be hosting a memorial tournament on July 23. All proceeds from the event will go to the Landon Schmidt Trust.
Cottonwood Photo wins Ball of Spray contest!!
I'm pretty bad with small "just pick one" decisions. Buying shoes, picking out a movie or ordering an appetizer? I'm awful. Shopping for clothes? I stare at the mannequins and just try to copy that outfit and get out as quickly as I can. So many colors, so many options.
With that being said, choosing one winner proved to be a rather difficult task for me. There were a TON of great photos, funny photos, beautiful photos, and best of all, ones that really represented BOS. Hmmm how to choose? With $100 to H2oz on the line, I needed to come up with a system to sort through the 200 + pictures that were submitted. The top 3 photos and the winner of the $100 gift certificate were the ones that I looked at and instantly thought, "I need to ski now!" And for reasons I explained above, I couldn't choose just one to recognize. So without further ado, here is the December 2010 BallOfSpray / H2Osmosis Photo Contest Winner along with other photos I wanted to give a little shout-out to.
